Proud to be a new Grandma to Skyeler Lavon Groves, born Nov. 2, 2007. Unfortunately she lives with her folks in Portland, OR so we don't get to see her as often as we would like.

I am currently working 2 part time jobs, both having to do with the field of aging. One is as a Geriatric Care Manager, a job in a field that can only grow. I love working with my elderly clients, not only because they view me as a 'youngster', but that helps!

I'm still married to the guy I met at college, Ed Kurtz, who trades commodities for himself these days after working for others for more than 30 years. We live on 14 acres outside of Kansas City, have 2 labradors and lots of fresh air.

Our kids live on the West coast, our daughter, son in law and granddaughter in OR , our son in CA.

My trips to Dubuque have become rare due to the death last year of my mom, so no family left there. We are planning a Laube family reunion over Memorial Day weekend, however, and will try out the Casino/Hotel by the Museum.
